Can you tell that we miss New York? This year Lilly was King Kong, Matt was Godzilla and I was the Empire State Building. My goal was to not spend any money at all on costumes and we did it! The gorilla suit was a hand-me-down from Lilly's cousin Michael and the doll she's holding is Supergirl wearing a dress made from one of my socks. Matt borrowed the Godzilla suit from his friend Steve (we have a picture of him in it last year trying to eat Lilly's head). My costume was made entirely from things I had around the house (building: painted poster board, windows: duck tape, hat: a painted box, the needle: cardboard and a paper towel roll covered in foil).
Matt and I were away in Mexico for our friend Amanda's wedding, so we didn't get to spend Halloween day with Lilly. Matt's parents watched her and said she had a blast. She dressed up in her cousin Sara's hand-me-down pink kitty cat (it's so great to have older cousins!) and they took her Trick-or-Treating at the Mystic Seaport. They said that later on at home she loved all of the Trick-or-Treaters coming to the house, and every time the doorbell rang her arms would shoot right up. So they would pick her up to see who was at the door.
Matt and I had a really great time on our trip. Matt has gone away a few times, but this was my first time being away from Lilly, so it was very hard for me. We Skyped every day and luckily we were at an amazing place that helped keep me occupied.
